3 Fun Fall Sensory Activities
Have you ever wondered where to start to achieve sensory goals for your child? Would you like to engage all the senses in a fun and playful manner for your child?
While this time of the year has been all about pumpkin carving, decorating, and feasting, I feel it’s also become a sensory overload for young children. Autumn is filled with lots of fun sensory play for our little ones! The smells of cinnamon, nutmeg, and roasted pumpkin drive their olfactory senses crazy. They love to run their hands over the spiny surface of an acorn and dribble apple cider while they jump in the leaves. They bite into ripe golden apples, sticky pears, and luscious peaches, then smear them all over their cheeks. Then there are the crunchy nuts, tasty seeds, and fragrant spices- just enough to make their mouths water and dance around a campfire while invoking the spirit of Halloween and Fall festivals.
As you’re gearing up for Halloween, and you have your little witches and warlocks running around while decking your home with spooky decor, here are three fun and safe sensory activities you can do yourself at home!
They are great alternatives to some of the scary things the kids are exposed to and allow them to explore toddler-friendly sensory materials.
